Azusa, CA (July 26, 2020) – Authorities in the Azusa neighborhood of Los Angeles County reported a fatal traffic accident that took place on Sunday morning, July 26th. The collision happened on San Gabriel Canyon Road (CA-39) at approximately 8:32 a.m.
According to police officials, at least two collided in the vicinity of mile marker 23.11, resulting in the closure of both northbound and southbound lanes. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene where they went to work assisting the victims involved.
Officers say that at least one person was pronounced deceased at the scene but details are limited at this time. The roadway was blocked for approximately three hours as crews worked to clear the wreckage.
Authorities are presently conducting an investigation into the events that led to this incident.
