Compton, CA (September 18, 2020) – Terrence Coleman was fatally struck by a car while riding his bicycle along Rosecrans Avenue in the city of Compton.
The coroner from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department identified Coleman as the man who was killed during an accident that took place at around 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16th on Rosecrans Avenue, near the Aprilia Avenue intersection.
When officers from the Los Angeles Police Department reported to the crash site where they discovered Coleman lying in the roadway, unresponsive.
According to a statement issued by the California Highway Patrol, the other driver of the 2008 Honda Element that was involved in the accident, did pull over and remain at the scene.
Officers said that the portion of the roadway where Coleman was riding his bicycle was inadequately lit. This caused the driver of the Honda to collided with the back of the bicycle as he was attempting to change lanes, resulting in fatal injuries to the rider.
Officials from the Compton Fire Department pronounced Coleman dead at the scene.
This accident is still under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim, Mr. Terrance Coleman, at this time.
