Glendale, CA (September 19, 2020) – This past Thursday night, at approximately 8:00 p.m., a pedestrian crash took the life of one individual on a roadway in Glendale.
According to the Glendale police department, a man, aged 32, identified as Akop Daniyelyan of Los Angeles, was attempting to pass a vehicle traveling at a slower speed when he, for unknown reasons, drifted into oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle. That vehicle was being driven by 27-year-old Alejandro Garcia of Los Angeles.
Following the crash, both cars involved lost control, collided with a parked truck, a tree, and finally, a pedestrian. The pedestrian, who has only been identified as a man in his 60s, was critically injured in the crash and transported to a nearby medical center where he was later pronounced deceased.
Both drivers involved in the crash were arrested and jailed under suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and reckless driving.
No further information has been disclosed concerning the details of the wreck.
An investigation into the circumstances of the collision will be carried out by local police.
We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
