Los Angeles, CA (July 25, 2020) – According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a pedestrian was struck and killed by an unspecified vehicle on the State Route 110 Freeway. The fatal accident was reported near 6th Street on Thursday night, July 23rd in Central Los Angeles.
Officers say that the pedestrian was walking in the area when they were hit by a vehicle in the northbound lanes of the freeway at approximately 11:18 p.m. Firefighters and EMTs were among the first responders at the scene where they found the victim down in the roadway. The unidentified pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, police have not commented on whether or not the driver of the vehicle will be facing any charges. The name of the victim is currently being withheld until authorities can properly notify the next of kin.
The cause of this incident remains under investigation.
