Oxnard, CA (June 24, 2020) – A woman was killed in a motorcycle accident with another vehicle that also left a child injured on Monday night, June 22nd. The fatal crash took place on East Pleasant Valley Road, in the vicinity of Laguna Road at around 9:15 p.m.
According to police officials in Oxnard, 55-year-old Elva Andrade was operating a Yamaha Scooter when she collided with an Acura sedan. The impact of the crash caused both Andrade and her 7-year-old passenger to be ejected from the vehicle.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene where Andrade was pronounced deceased and the child was transported to Ventura County Medical Center. The child suffered major injuries in the collision.
The driver of the Acura, identified as 21-year-old Jacob A. Caliboso, of Oxnard, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. The investigation is ongoing.
