Torrance, CA (July 11, 2020) – A woman who has now been identified as 23-year-old Ashley Wells, of Redondo Beach, was killed in a single-vehicle crash that left three other hospitalized. The fatal accident happened at around 12:28 a.m. on Wednesday morning, July 8th, in Torrance.
According to authorities, Wells was a passenger in a Dodge Charger when the vehicle went over a median and struck a light pole at the intersection of 190th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard. Officers and firefighters arrived at the scene where they found five people inside the vehicle.
Wells was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver, identified only as a 22-year-old male from Torrance was hospitalized along with two female passengers. One male passenger was treated and released at the crash site.
At this time, the conditions of the wounded parties have not been reported. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of this incident.
